A single unit extends the run up to 200 meters, and you can cascade up to 4 levels, pushing the total distance out to 500 meters. Since it uses a 2.5Gbps high-speed chip, your bandwidth will stay completely solid and stable for HD cameras or heavy data traffic within that range.
My network cables came with pre-molded strain relief boots on the RJ45 connectors. Can I slide them straight through the waterproof fitting?
The standard waterproof fittings don’t support pre-molded cables with boots. For those, you’ll need to order our extended metal sealing fittings separately to make them fit.
What’s the max wattage this extender supports? Can it handle a high-speed PTZ camera?
It supports 802.3af/at/bt standards and can push out up to 72W from a single port. As long as your PTZ camera's power consumption falls within that limit, you’re completely good to go.
Once my tablet is plugged into the adapter, does it use wired internet or Wi-Fi?
It will use the wired connection. Android automatically prioritizes wired internet, giving you lower latency and a much more stable connection. It's perfect for smart homes or commercial control centers where reliable networking is a must.
Can I use this to power my laptop and get an internet connection?
No, you can't. The adapter's output maxes out at 23W, which isn't enough to power a laptop. It just demands too much juice.
Can I just bury this adapter directly inside the wall?
We provide a dedicated mounting kit, so you can easily fit it inside a standard 86 wall box. Once your tablet is mounted on top, the adapter and all the cables are completely hidden, keeping everything looking super clean.
Is the max output power 25W when the PT-PD208GT is 24Vdc output?
Yes. The max output power is 25W for both 12Vdc and 24Vdc output settings.
Can it provide 5V USB-A power and Ethernet data at the same time?
Yes. It separates the PoE input into a 5V USB-A power output and a 10/100Mbps Ethernet connection.
Does this adapter need to be plugged into a separate power outlet? How do I connect it?
No extra power outlet is needed! It uses PoE (Power over Ethernet) technology. You just need to connect it to a PoE switch or a PoE injector with a single network cable, and it will power up itself while delivering internet and power to your iPad.
I want to run a network cable from my study to the garage so I can watch instructional videos on my iPad. It's about 200 feet—will the signal drop?
Not at all! Using a Cat5e or Cat6 network cable, it supports a distance of up to 100 meters (about 328 feet).
Can this charge my iPad and connect it to the internet at the same time? How is the speed?
Yes, absolutely! It simultaneously provides stable charging (5V2A) and a 10/100Mbps network connection, so watching videos or joining online meetings will be completely smooth and lag-free.
How should I install it for effective outdoor surge protection?
Mount it within 0.5m of the protected device, fully tighten the waterproof fittings, and connect its grounding terminal with a 2.5mm² wire to an earth ground of 4Ω or less.
I'm planning to set this up right next to my outdoor security camera. The aluminum alloy shell looks tough—can I just bolt it straight onto the outside wall as is, or do I need to cover it up with something?
We wouldn’t recommend leaving it completely exposed to the outdoors. In fact, the manual explicitly states it’s for indoor use only. If you absolutely have to use it outside, you'll need to tuck it inside a waterproof enclosure or box.
We use passive AP. Can this protector handle the juice?
You're completely good to go! The PT-PR01G fully supports non-standard PoE devices. Specifically, the circuitry can handle a maximum input voltage of up to 60Vdc , and it allows a maximum current of 2A when utilizing 4-pair PoE.
I see RJ45 ports on both ends, but the labels just say 'PoE Input or PoE Output'. Which way is 'in' and which way is 'out'? If I accidentally plug it in backward, will it fry my camera or my injector?
Don't worry! Plugging it in backward won't burn out your gear, but to get the absolute best lightning protection, you'll want to follow the setup diagrams. While both ports are identical and have minimal signal loss, a good rule of thumb is to treat the side with the grounding screw terminal as the side closest to your protected device (like your PoE camera or switch).
Can the PT-PSE118GBR-OT-10 deliver 60W throughout its entire -40°C to 65°C operating range?
No. It provides up to 60W at 50°C, 45W at 55°C, and 30W at 65°C. It supports full-load startup at -40°C.
Can the injector run at full load at 65℃?
Yes. It supports full-load cold start at -40℃ and continuous full-load operation at an ambient temperature of 65℃.
It really can be used outdoors in rain, snow, or direct sunlight?
Yes, absolutely. It can be installed outdoors without an additional waterproof enclosure.
Can I use a 12Vdc power source and still get a 55Vdc PoE output?
Yes. The injector accepts 12.0Vdc and boosts it to 55Vdc.
Can I use this injector in my yard to power a camera?
Yes, it just needs proper protection. Install the injector in a suitable waterproof enclosure and provide proper grounding.
Can the PT-PSE105GB-D power an IEEE 802.3bt device?
Yes. More specifically, it supports IEEE 802.3bt devices below Class 7.
My Wi-Fi 7 AP has a 2.5Gbps data rate. Can this injector provide a stable connection?
Sure. It support data rates up to 10Gbps and is fully compatible with 1/2.5/5Gbps connections.
Does this device support redundant AC and DC power inputs? I want to connect it to both AC power and a battery so it can automatically switch to battery power if the AC power fails.
No. You can use either the AC input or the DC input, but not both at the same time.
Can I use the fiber connection as the primary data link and the Ethernet connection as a backup to prevent an interruption if the fiber link fails?
Yes, you can use it this way. However, do not connect both the fiber and Ethernet links to the same upstream device at the same time.
I see that this injector can be managed by web browser. Does that mean I can remotely turn off a wireless radio located in a house more than 20 km away?
Yes. You can remotely power off the PD, view the port and device status, or restart the PoE port if the data link goes down.
Since the injector supports a wide operating temperature range, can I use it outdoors?
Yes, as long as it is installed in a suitable location, such as inside a waterproof enclosure.
Can this injector power a device that typically consumes 65W but draws up to 98W at startup?
Not recommended. The PT-PSE109GBROA-VI caps out at 95W, but your device needs up to 98W at startup. With power loss over the cable, the device may not start properly.
I saw that this injector has 6kV surge protection Can it be installed under the eaves?
Not directly. We recommend an outdoor injector, as mounting an indoor model under the eaves cannot fully protect it from moisture and dust.
Do you offer a compatible power supply for this injector?
No. You need to buy a AC-DC power supply from Amazon.
Does the injector have the required certification for India? I will use it there.

The router is not required, but the connection to the camera has to be POE. You could make a cable to pull the power from the POE connector to supply the power to the camera, but this seems over complicated. Why not just run a power line for the camera ?
