    RMA Checklist

Checklist Before Submitting an RMA Request

Based on our previous experience, a brief troubleshooting session can often identify the root cause of a failure and help avoid unnecessary part shipments. PROCET provides the following checklists for common product issues and regularly updates them based on customer feedback and accumulated support experience.

    PoE SPD & Extender Checklist

    Network Switch Checklist

    Switch Power Supply Checklist

    1. Check the power supply and the power source are working properly.

Are the LEDs indicating a faulty state?

    1. Replace another available power supply for testing.
    2. Read the power LED indicator, and check if the indicator is stay-on green.

    Log In Checklist

    1. If you are unable to log in to the switch using the console cable, perform the following checks:
    • Verify that the USB console driver is installed correctly. After connecting the console cable to the computer, ensure that the corresponding communication port (COM x) appears under Device Manager > Ports (COM & LPT).
    • Verify that the console cable is securely connected to both the computer and the switch's console port.
    • Verify that the terminal emulator is configured with the correct serial communication settings.
    • Replace the console cable with a known working cable and check whether you can successfully log in.
    • Verify that the control software is functioning properly. We recommend using PuTTY or Xshell.

    1. If you are unable to log in to the switch remotely through the management port or a service port, perform the following checks:
    • Verify network connectivity. Ensure that the switch management IP address, VLANIF IP address, and the PC IP address can ping each other successfully. For troubleshooting, it is recommended to connect the PC directly to the switch.
    • Replace the Ethernet cable with a known working cable and verify the connection between the switch and the PC.
    • Verify that the required management services are enabled, including HTTP, HTTPS, Telnet, and SSH.
    • Try logging in using a different web browser.

    Ports Checklist

    1. If you encounter issues with a port not functioning properly, perform the following checks:
    • Replace the connected cable with a known working cable and verify whether the issue persists.
    • Connect the cable to another known working port to determine whether the issue is related to the port or the cable.
    • Verify the port configuration in the web UI and ensure that the port is enabled.
    • Perform a loopback test by connecting the affected port to another known working port on the same switch and verify whether a link can be established.
    • Check the port LED status. Verify that the port LED is solid green and operating according to the LED indication table.
    • Perform a communication test. Connect two switches using a known working cable and configure the corresponding ports in the same network segment. Then verify whether communication can be established between the switches.

    1. If the cable or transceiver is not working because the date rate of the port doesn't match, perform the following checks:
    • Verify that the cable or transceiver data rate matches the port speed.
    • Note: If the cable or transceiver supports 1G while the switch port supports 10G, configure the 10G switch port to 1G speed mode and perform the test again.
    • Perform a loopback test to verify that there are no compatibility issues.
    • Check the port LED status. Verify that the LED indicator is solid green according to the LED indication table.
